This is a statement about you. You are not who you think you are. You are not what you think you are. You are not what you own, or what you want, or what you plan to have. None of those things matter, because they are all superficial.

There is precisely one thing that dictates who you are. It defines you. And you want to change. You want to be better, because right now you are just like everyone else. No matter how badly you want to be different, you are not unique. There are a billion other people just like you, and a billion more just like them. There is nothing special about you, just like there is nothing special about me.

You and I are the same, and everyone else is just like us. We all want to change. We all want to be better than we are. We all want to improve, constantly. We may not want to improve the same things about ourselves, but the details are incidental; they really don't matter.

What matters is what happens next. What matters is how you're going to become the better version of yourself that you want to be. What matters is what you are now, and what you want to become. What matters is what you are going to do. And that's the only thing that matters, because it's the only thing that's important.

You are not who you know, and you are not what you feel. You are what you do. If you want to change who you are, you need to change your actions. If you do want to change what you've got, you've got to change what you do. There's precisely one question you need to ask yourself before continuing your life: how badly do you want to change?

How badly do you want to be the better version of yourself that you think you need to be? How badly do you want to stop being how you are right now? If you are at all serious about self improvement, about personal growth, about being better than you are, then there's a second question you need to ask yourself: what are you waiting for?

If you're really serious about doing what needs to be done, then it's time for you to step up and do it. Don't wait until you feel like it; don't wait until the morning so you can get started on a good night's sleep; don't wait one second more.

Change takes action. Action takes intent. Intent takes desire. If you don't want it enough to start right now, then you simply don't want it enough. If there is anything else you'd rather do right now than commit to doing what it takes to change yourself, to be better than you are right now, then you do not have the desire you need in order to make it happen.

You are what you do. If you change what you do, you change who you are. The only reason you are who you are is you. The only person who is capable of changing who you are is you. You are your past, your present and your future. You are responsible, so take responsibility. Step up and be who you need to be in order to become who you want to become. If you really are serious about changing, then there's just one more question you have to ask yourself:

What are you going to do?
